Shining Path was a Maoist and insurgent guerrilla organization in Peru. It never called it self "Shining Path," but prefers to be called the "Communist Party of Peru." It was launched in 1980. In 2012, the President of Peru called the capture of their leader marked the Shining Path's defeat, however they are still operating. They are also one of Archer's enemies.
In the real world Shining Path has disbanded, but in the Archer Universe many old organizations and countries are still in existence. Other examples include East Germany and the U.S.S.R.
